ULearn English School ("ULearn", "we", "us") is the data controller for the ULearn student app. We are committed to protecting your personal data and to complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
Information you provide on enrolment and within the app: your name, email address, phone number, nationality, date of birth, passport and visa details, and documents you choose to upload (for example your passport or IRP card). Information the app generates about your studies: your bookings, attendance, class assignment, in-app messages, and support requests.
With your permission, the app uses your device camera and photos to let you upload documents, and (where available) the microphone for speaking practice. We send you notifications about your course and the school. We do not collect your location.
To provide your English course and accommodation; to manage your enrolment, attendance and documents; to produce official documents such as enrolment and visa letters; to respond to your support requests; and to meet our legal and immigration-compliance obligations as a registered language school in Ireland.
Your information may be shared with the education agent or partner who arranged your booking (your appointed representative), and with service providers who help us run the school (for example accommodation providers and our email and hosting providers) under data-processing agreements. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Your data is stored on secured servers within the EU and transmitted over encrypted connections. We retain your data for as long as you are a ULearn student and for as long as required afterwards by Irish education and immigration law.
Under the GDPR you may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, or to delete your account and data, contact us at app@ulearnschool.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Students under 18 are enrolled with the consent of a parent or guardian as part of the school's standard enrolment process, and use the app under the school's duty of care.
